Microsoft issues April update for Xbox One: Here's what's improved

Microsoft Xbox One is all set to get its monthly update for April today, as reported by The Verge. The latest updates are expected to bring some important updates and newer features to the gaming console.   One of the new features expected to be rolled out is friend notification. This is a feature that lets the gamers know as and when their friends come online. Bizarrely, Microsoft had this feature in Xbox 360 but did not include it in Xbox One console. Besides this new addition, there will also be an update that will enable the Xbox One users to see which of their friends are playing multiplayer games.   These two updates will greatly help gamers to play more with their friends rather than playing with strangers. Plus they can invite their friends (when they are online) to play games.   One issue that Xbox One users have complained about is that Kinect is struggling to understand their voice commands. The report also states that Microsoft will release updates for Kinect Voice which will resolve this issue. Motion detection is another area which will receive updates.   Another expected update will be about notifications. The update will enable the UI to show the games and the apps that have been updated. Thus players can keep abreast of all the news of their favourite games and apps.   The report also says that Microsoft is expected to roll out Blu-ray video with 50Hz output for the European market as well for the Stereo Headset which has been reported to be suffering from audio static problems.   It is apparent that Microsoft plans to fight tooth and nail with its arch rival Sony PlayStation 4. Both new consoles bring music into the mix with their proprietary music subscriptions, “Music Unlimited” and “Xbox Music.” Either allows you to listen to music while playing a game if you have a $10-a-month subscription. In both cases, you’ll have to fiddle with volume settings manually.
