Micron Technology Inc. one of the largest flash memory makers today entered the “fusion memory” chip business for mobile phones. Micron’s technology, dubbed Managed NAND, is an embedded multi-chip package (MCP) product line that combines the company’s NAND flash memory with a high-speed multimedia card (MMC) controller. This is a unique solution and allows for its deployment in the widest possible range of Gadgets and devices that use expandible memory. Applications include feature-rich mobile handsets and other portable devices.
