At an even held in New Delhi, Micromax unveiled several devices which included a smartwatch, new televisions and new tablets as well. A total of 19 products were introduced out of which 15 were smartphones. In addition, the company also unveiled a new brand identity with the launch of its new logo and brand philosophy ‘Nuts: Guts: Glory’. Micromax invested in three new manufacturing units in India to ramp up domestic production and reduce dependence on imports. The company will have functional manufacturing units in Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan by 2017.
The company introduced two new smartphones on stage dubbed Canvas 6 and the Canvas 6 Pro, both priced at Rs 13,999.
The Micromax Canvas 6 features an all metal uni-body design and packs in a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Inside, we get a 64-bit MediaTek MT6795m SoC, Tru Octa-core 2.0GHz chipset coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is a 13MP camera on the back, while an 8MP camera is in charge of selfies. Powering it all is a 3000mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner on the back completes the package.
The Canvas 6 Pro sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display, the same 64-bit MediaTek MT6795m, Tru Octa-core 2.0GHz SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. We get a 13MP primary camera on the back and 5MP unit up front. The smartphone is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
Other smartphones launched at the event include the Micromax Bolt Supreme, Bolt Supreme 2, Bolt Q381, Canvas Spark 2+, Canvas Evok, Canvas Mega 2, Canvas Unite 4, Canvas 6, and Canvas 6 Pro.
