Micromax has launched an affordable 7 inch tablet called the Canvas Tab P470 at a price of Rs 6999. The tablet will go on sale from 20 December.

Micromax has launched an affordable 7-inch tablet called the Canvas Tab P470 at a price of Rs 6999. The tablet will go on sale from 20 December.

The dual-SIM supporting tablet sports a TFT display with 1024x600 pixel resolution. In terms of hardware, it has a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8312 chip and 1GB RAM.

It will run on Android 4.4 and has built-in storage of 8GB — expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It also features a 5MP LED fixed-focus rear camera and a 0.3MP VGA front-facing camera. It boasts of a 3200mAh battery which claims to offer up to 158 hours of standby time and 11 hours of talk time.

On the connectivity front, it supports 3G for voice calling and data (dual-sim), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The Canvas Tab P470 also features support for 21 Indian languages which include Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada.

The latest Micromax product will be available in classy silver and mystic grey colour variants and is the company’s second device in the new Canvas Tab series.

Apps such as Bookmyshow, Hike, Dr. Safety virus scanning system and Opera Mini browser will be pre-installed in addition to the company’s own app and content stores.

Earlier reports suggested that the company had launched an 8-inch Canvas Tab P650 for Rs 16,500. It was the first tablet launched under the Canvas series.
