MeterDown, the previously iOS only Mumbai rickshaw and taxi fare calculator has now come to the Android OS. Developer Siddhartha Banerjee announced that the app is available for free from the Android Market for touchscreen devices running Android 2.1 and higher.
MeterDown is now on Android
The application has had a fair amount of success on the iPhone and it only made sense for it to come out on the growing mobile operating system that is Android. The advantage of using an app over a paper fare chart is fairly obvious. Lower chance of getting lost/damaged, the app updates when the fares update and also, this app in particular gives you readings up until 27 (both day and night rates) while most paper charts give you rates until 25,30.
Paddy does not, we repeat, definitely does NOT belong in the category of Mac-head (yeh right!). She does get excited by her iPhone and her iMac and her iPod Nano and her Macbook and Bali's iPad and her future iHouse (patent pending). Ok, so maybe her head is a little bit forbidden fruit shaped. She likes shooting video (iPhone 4 camera zindabad!) and editing montages (Final Cut Pro zindabad!), whether the scene calls for it or no. In her spare time, she's either kicking it on stage with KB the keyboard or kicking butt at Taekwondo.
