Meru Cabs has been trying every trick to go mobile since late last year. After revamping its mobile app, the company has now announced to integrate Google Now. Needless to say, Google Now aims at providing information before users explicitly search for it and has recently added 40 new apps which will provide information via Google Now cards.
With this integration, the Meru app can send passengers pickup reminders, alerts in case they wish to avail of a cab depending on their location and several other information through Now cards within the Google app for Android.
Announcing the launch, Rathin Lahiri, Chief Marketing Officer, Meru Cabs said, “At Meru Cabs, it is always our endeavour to constantly explore and develop innovative technology solutions that benefit our end consumers. With Meru Cab’s integration on the Google app, customers on the go can now tap into a seamless and good quality cab experience. We are proud to be the first Indian cab service to offer this feature in partnership with Google.”
Meru's new mobile app introduces one touch booking, tracking your cab, confirmed booking up to 7 days in advance and India’s first Cab-Wallet. The Cab-Wallet feature in the Meru Cabs app can be used to pay for the trip. Customers register and load money into the app via credit card, debit card, or through net banking. We've used Citrus Pay wallet with the app and it worked quite fine.
