Finally, it’s about time Mercenaries got a sequel. For those of you in the dark, Mercenaries: Playground of destruction was a free-roaming action-fest set in Korea that had you controlling one of three Mercenaries as they went around blowing the crap out of each and everything - for a reason of course. The game was deemed a GTA clone (sigh), but it had a lot of memorable moments. Pandemic has finally announced that it is indeed working on a sequel titled Mercenaries2: World in Flames, and that the game will be “a whole new Playground of Destruction from the ground up, fully stocked with the hottest vehicles and weapons. Set in a new and exotic hotspot, you can be your own boss in a wide-open world where there’s only one rule: everybody pays.” As useless as that information sounds, that is all that has been divulged; no mention of the platforms or a release date or game features. They do promise to disclose more at E3. Surprised? No? Me neither!
