Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe 4MATIC+ launched with a price tag of Rs 2.55 crore

The Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe 4MATIC+ has been launched in India at Rs 2.55 crore, ex-showroom. From the images it can be clearly seen that new offering from the Mercedes-AMG range looks ravishing. The coupe now comes with a Panamericana grille. The front bumpers have been made sportier and also sport larger intake with more aerodynamic scultipting. It also gets 19-inch forged light-alloy wheels and the quad-exhausts at the rear. Like its luxurious sibling, the Mercedes-AMG S63 too scores highly in offering premium interior. It gets flowing twin-touchscreen layout seen on other AMG cars. Other changes from the regular car are the AMG sports seats in Nappa leather, AMG specific graphics in the infotainment and the AMG steering wheel. The S63 gets the V8 in the almost the same state of tune as the E63, which means that power remains the same at 612 PS but the torque figure now is bumped up by 50 Nm to 900 Nm. The S63 AMG gets from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.5 s and goes on to a top speed of 250 kmph. This can be increased to 300 kmph with the optional AMG driver’s pack. This is the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that does duty in the recently launched **Mercedes-AMG E63 S** . The engine uses twin-scroll technology and a ‘hot-vee’ arrangement to quicken reaction times and eliminate lag. A cylinder deactivation function is also available to improve efficiency. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic and four-wheel drive is a standard fitment.
