After numerous leaks Meizu has finally made official its more affordable version of the Pro 6 called the MX6. The smartphone is the successor to last year's MX5 and packs in plenty of new hardware including a MediaTek Helio X20 that makes it a worthy upgrade.

Meizu MX6 Silver Gold Grey

The design of the MX6 is similar to what we saw on the recently announced Pro 6 smartphone. It features a rounded all-metal body with 2.5D glass to protect the Sharp-made Full HD display. While it looks similar last year's MX5, things have changed around the back where we have a thick antenna inserts that look similar to those on the current Apple iPhone 6 models. The bands however stretch towards the top and bottom edges making it look similar to what we should see on the upcoming iPhone 7 models.

Inside, we get a brand new, deca-core, MediaTek Helio X20 chipset clocked at 2.3GHz that is also expected to arrive in the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. The device packs 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Coming to the cameras we get a 12MP sensor on the back that features 1.4µm pixels, an f/2.0 lens and PDAF along with a dual tone flash. The front facing camera is a regular 5MP unit.

The handset features LTE connectivity with support for Cat.6 speeds and is powered by a 3,060mAh battery that comes with a fast charger.

Powering all of the above is Meizu's Flyme UI with Android 6.0 Marshmallow as its base. The device will be available in China starting from 30 July for CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs 20,000) in grey, silver and gold.
