Chinese handset maker Meizu has finally taken the wraps of its long speculated smartwatch - Meizu Mix. The round-shaped smartwatch has been listed on Chinese site Taobao.
Coming in a metal body, the Meizu Mix is available in two colours - black and silver. It comes in three variants namely Denim, Leather and Stainless Steel which are different types of watch straps.
Unlike the other smartwatches on the market such as the Moto 360, Samsung Gear S2 and so on, the Meizu Mix is not all digital display though. The 42mm size watch comes with an analog watchface making it look like any other regular mechanical watch. It does have smart features in the form of LED notification light, vibration motor, Bluetooth 4.0 LE support among other things. The watch can be paired with your smartphone via the Meizu watch app as well.
The Meizu Mix is speculated to have Swiss movement built into it and a Sapphire Glass, which means that the watch movement has been assembled in Switzerland. It also has an accelerometer and gyroscope for activity tracking features.
The Meizu Mix is waterproof up to 30 metres under water. and has a 270mAh battery. According to Meizu, this battery is good enough to ensure the watch is running for 240 days. This is most likely the standby time, also the watch does not have any digital display so to speak, so all the more power savings.
The Meizu Mix is expected to go on sale in October and will be priced at RMB 999 (approx Rs 10,200) for the Denim variant, RMB 1299 (approx Rs 13,200) for the Leather variant and RMB 1499 (approx Rs 15,200) for the Steel variant.
