After the success of its Android app, Pluss, an on-demand medicine and healthcare products delivery service has intensified its online operations with the launch of its iOS app. The app will give an opportunity to prescription medication users to upload a photo of their prescription on their iOS devices, and then select and order individual medicines from their prescription. According to company sources, orders are delivered to a customer within 60 minutes of receiving an order confirmation through SMS. Currently, 11,000 Android subscribers are using the Pluss app, claims the company. Based out of Gurgaon, Pluss was incorporated in 2015 by Atit Jain, Madhulika Pandey and Tarun Lawadi after witnessing the country’s largely unorganised health care industry, which otherwise is worth billions of dollars. Pluss allows users to place orders for medicines through its app or WhatsApp, calls or Pluss website. The company has its own fleet of 50 delivery executives. If the user has special instructions, like who the medicines should be billed to, Pluss will factor that request. The online company features four main product categories – baby care, pet care, personal wellness and daily essentials, which are further divided into subcategories and have hundreds of products in total. The newly launched iOS application is light, easy-to-use and is easier to navigate as compared to its web version. The company has partnered with many licensed pharmacies providing the medicines as and when ordered. The revenue is generated by charging its partner pharmacies a percentage of every order they get through the app. Atit Jain, CEO of Pluss, said, “In this unorganised healthcare industry, we are an online medical platform that meets the consumers’ urgent pharmaceutical needs through mobile. Therefore, it is important for us to be present on each and every platform that will help us connect to all kinds of mobile users. With this launch, we can now extend our promise of fastest on-demand medicine delivery to iOS users as well. The app also makes it ideal to shop for those who need to address a medical emergency in an unknown city and helps them with the ease of ordering individual medicines from a full prescription through their smartphones. The app offers cash on delivery services and card on delivery services that can be availed on prior notice. Currently covering south, east, and central Delhi, along with the NCR region, Pluss plans to expand its presence in over five cities by the end of this year and further adding Medical Tests and Surgical Equipments in product categories. With the health products market expected to grow at a CAGR of 15 per cent and touch $158.2 billion in 2017, Pluss has placed a bet on hyperlocal delivery.
