Mass Effect Trilogy for PlayStation 3 out in December

While EA had already announced the release date for the Xbox 360 and the PC versions of Mass Effect 3, the release date for the PlayStation 3 version was a mystery. According to Eurogamer, the company has announced the release date for the PlayStation 3 version. The PS3 version of the game is set to release on December 7.

The company had earlier also detailed the downloadable content that will be bundled with the trilogy set, but had given no word about the PlayStation 3 version. According to Eurogamer, the PS3 version of the trilogy set will have Bring Down the Sky for the first game, all the DLCs, like Kasumi and Lair of the Shadow Broker for the second game, and no DLC for the third game.

For the PC version, the set will include Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station DLCs for the first game, Cerberus Network DLC for the second game, which includes an extra character and some extra missions and weapons, and the online pass for the third game, which includes an extra character along with some missions and weapons. The Xbox 360 version of the set will only have the Cerberus Network for the second game and the online pass for the third game.

Save the galaxy

Save the galaxy all over again in December if you own a PS3

This is a strikingly strange move on EA’s part, as the Trilogy sets or ‘Game of the Year’ sets usually contain all the games along with all the DLCs that the company has released for the games. It is also puzzling to note that EA has chosen to not include Lair of the Shadow Broker, Overlord, or Kasumi in the trilogy set, as these DLC missions have their stories picked up again in the third game.

Recently, BioWare released a new DLC for Mass Effect 3 titled Leviathan. Leviathan, which was announced earlier in August, takes place during the events of Mass Effect 3. Commander Shepard is thrust into the darkest corners of space where he will hunt a mysterious being rumoured to be powerful enough to destroy a Reaper. As Shepard races against time, he will begin to learn more about the secret of the Leviathan. Here is a summary of the story according to BioWare: “Something lurks in the dark corners of space, something powerful enough to kill a Reaper. Shepard must discover the most closely guarded secret in the galaxy before the Reapers silence it forever. Discover more about the origins of the Reapers as you race across the galaxy to find the Leviathan. Unravel the dark history of the Reaper Race before it is too late. Coming later this summer there is no war, only the harvest.”

Mass Effect 3 has gained a large amount of notoriety among gamers for having one of the most disappointing endings ever made in a game. One of the biggest reasons for the disappointing ending was that players had been waiting for a satisfying end to the story since the first Mass Effect game came out in 2007. The trilogy took around five years to finish and players were left with a sour taste in their mouth after finishing Mass Effect 3. To fix this, BioWare had released an “Extended Cut” DLC which promised to expand on the ending.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
