Watch Counter-Strike evolve visually over the past few years with this user made video.
A YouTube user, going by the name of Rechyyy has been kind enough to illustrate the visual changes Counter-Strike has gone through over the years. He uses de_dust2 as a reference map to showcase the visual upgrades Counter-Strike has received with every iteration all the way up to the unreleased Counter-Strike Global Offensive.
Even if CS: GO doesn’t bring a whole lot gameplay changes to the table, the visual overhaul is evident. CS: GO is expected to release sometime next year, while the multiplayer beta has already gone live nearly a week ago. Thanks to

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office.
