LulzSec States Motive Behind Recent Hacks

LulzSec States Motive Behind Recent Hacks

LulzSec have been on a hacking rampage since a while now. They have been taking down sites of the CIA, Sony, FBI and a host of others. LulzSec, however does not seem to be in a mood to cease the hacking spree and have provided an explanation regarding their hacking exploits in a press release. They have shared the text document on Pastebin through their Twitter page.

LulzSec explains their motives behind the hacks

On reaching a 1,000 tweets milestone, so they thought it best to provide an explanation to their followers or enemies. The press release states that for the past month or so they have been causing chaos throughout the internet by attacking several targets including PBS, Sony, Fox, porn websites, FBI, CIA and the U.S. government. They say that while they’ve gained many supporters, they also earned themselves a host of enemies, which are mostly gamers. They state that the main anti-LulzSec argument suggests that they’re going to bring down more internet laws by continuing their public shenanigans, and that their actions are causing clowns with pens to write new rules for users.

In a sort of defense to their actions they said that they could have gone about all of these shenanigans silently instead of publicly displaying their exploits. To strengthen their argument they say that other hackers would be silent regarding their attacks and they were certain about it. Instead, they say that one should not be fearful of them releasing things publicly, but the fact that someone hasn’t released something publicly. They say that releasing data is just as ‘evil’; however they mock by saying, “This is the Lulz lizard era, where we do things just because we find it entertaining.”

They end by saying, “We’ve been entertaining you 1000 times with 140 characters or less, and we’ll continue creating things that are exciting and new until we’re brought to justice, which we might well be.“
