LG unveils the G2, its newest smartphone, in an event in New York. Watch the event live.
The LG G2 is the Korean smartphone maker’s latest flagship phone. The leaks about the phone have been creating quite a buzz over the last couple of weeks. The G2 will be the first smartphone to be launched as part of the company’s new “G” series; upcoming smartphones in the same series too will carry the G branding.
Is this the LG G2?
The phone is said to have an edge-to-edge display and a volume button under the camera on the back. We had a clue about the rather weird volume button arrangement on the G2 thanks to a few pictures that were leaked previously. Like all flagship smartphones that are launched nowadays, the LG G2 is set have a full HD display and will measure 5.2 inches. Earlier today, we had reported that serial leaker @evleaks had released, what is claimed to be, press shots of the G2.
LG had also released a new ad campaign last month. As a part of the campaign, LG also released a new teaser video that ends with the line, “To me, you are perfect.” The end of the video also gives a glimpse of the backside of the phone, showing off the rear camera with up and down arrows (above and below it). If you go by the pictures and the video, the phone is quite the looker and if priced right will go some way in bolstering LG’s position the smartphone market.
