After the recent revelation of Microsoft owning URLs for Fable Legends, Lionhead Studios has officially announced that the game is in the works. According to Polygon, the game is set to be exclusive to the Xbox One and will be an online title. It will continue the story set up by the previous games. Check out the announcement trailer:
The trailer is rather whimsical and sets up Fable Legends like a fairy tale. It shows the difference between characters focused on Strength, Will and Dexterity. It looks like Fable Legends will focus a lot on teamwork and multiplayer rather than the traditional single player campaigns of the earlier titles. One thing is for certain, however. The trailer looks gorgeous. As is typical for the franchise, the game will let players either be heroes or villains.
Along with this, the studio responsible for the franchise—Lionhead Studio—is working on a remake of the first game in the series: Fable Anniversary. The company was absorbed by Microsoft back in 2006 and has since been working on the (mostly) Xbox-exclusive Fable series.

Fable Anniversary is a tenth-anniversary re-release of the original Fable, which was launched back in 2004. The re-release will include the main game itself, as well as the extras from the Lost Chapters of the PC version of the game, which extended the storyline and added new content. The re-release will add new textures, models, animations, leaderboards and the option to use Fable 2’s control scheme.
Fable Anniversary is set to hit stores later this year for the Xbox 360.
