In a move to energise its mobile apps, LinkedIn has announced that its applications for iOS and Android will now feature enhanced search features that will let you search for jobs, companies, groups and people even when you’re on the move.

The feature will be a part of the completely revamped app that was released a few months ago. The professional social networking service says that besides searching for people, you will now be able to use the mobile application to search for ideal jobs, companies and groups. You need to simply tap on the magnifying glass icon on top of the navigation screen to be able to scroll through three million Company Pages, two million Groups and thousands of job opportunities.

The feature, says LinkedIn, was one of the most requested one ever since it redesigned the mobile application for the service. The ability to search for more than just connections while on-the-go is sure to gain the service some brownie points from LinkedIn users on mobile apps.

The blog post also reminded LinkedIn members to make use of some of its time-saving features of the mobile applications. You can customise your app navigation and add shortcuts from the menu to access your most-visited sections faster. Say, you are contemplating applying to a few new organisation, you can simply tap on the “Add Shortcut” button on the bottom of the navigation pane and include Companies in your list to be ably to quickly access updates from these firms.

You can also add the “Connections” shortcut in order to keep updated with what your network is up to, even while you build new connections. Furthermore, you can also add shortcuts for News, Groups, Jobs, People You May Know, Who’s Viewed Your Profile and Your Recent Activity.

You can download LinkedIn for iOS from the App Store and for Android on the Google Play Store to be on top of all the news your connections have been making.
