LinkedIn crosses 300 million registered users, will focus more on mobile going forward


LinkedIn announced in a company blog post, that it has reached 300 million registered users, 100 million of which are based in the US and the rest outside the US. These numbers are not to be mistaken with monthly pageviews. LinkedIn's monthly active user figure is around 139 million unique views in Q4 '13.

 

It also mentioned that later in the year, more than 50 per cent of the traffic will come via mobile apps. On an average, each day LinkedIn sees 15 million profile views, 1.45 million job views and 44,000 job applications in over 200 countries through mobile. Prominent countries where LinkedIn access via mobile is prevalent are Costa Rica, Malaysia, Singapore, Sweden, United Kingdom and so on.

 

LinkedIn is keen on increasing its mobile app portfolio and will focus on strategically partnering with companies such as Apple, Nokia, Samsung and others.

 

The company blog says that LinkedIn still has a long way to go to realise its vision of creating opportunities for all the 3.3 billion people in the global workforce.

 

"To give our members access to all business knowledge they need to be great at what they do, we have brought together content from millions of publishers through Pulse, Influencer posts from approximately 500 of the leading minds in business, and most recently, our millions of members, as we continue to roll out our publishing platform and expand LinkedIn Groups and SlideShare," said the blog.

 

The blog also mentioned LinkedIn's new simplified Chinese site and that it aims to have more than 140 million registered users in China.
