LG had unveiled the LifeBand Touch wearable at CES earlier this year. Now, the company has now announced the launch date for the LifeBand Touch along with the new HeartRate earphones in the US on May 18.
The Lifeband Touch will be priced at $150 while the HeartRate earphones will cost $180, which translates to approximately Rs 8,900 and Rs 10,700 respectively. After US debut, the accessories will hit markets in Asia and Europe. This means the wearable accessories could be offered as a combo with the LG G3 , which is expected to be launched on May 27
The Lifeband Touch sports a 0.9-inch OLED touchscreen display with 32x128 pixel of resolution. It will be available in three sizes – medium, large and extra large. Depending upon the size, the weight will vary from 49.9 grams to 53.1 grams. The Bluetooth smartwatch promises five days of battery life with its 90mAh battery.
The HeartRate earphones claim to offer accurate health and fitness metrics due to the physiology of the human ear. The earphones can be used in conjunction with the LG Lifeband Touch or as a standalone accessory. They have Bluetooth connectivity which sends data to the Lifeband Touch or a compatible smartphone. It sends audible status updates when used along with the LG Fitness app, offering real-time information about heart rate, oxygen consumption and possibly other vitals. Weighing around 26 grams, the HeartRate earphones come fitted with a 200mAh battery and support Bluetooth 3.0 and up.
