LG's alleged first Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone revealed by Evleaks

Earlier this year at Mobile World Congress, Microsoft announced it will be working with major OEM partners like Huawei, Lenovo, LG and ZTE for Windows smartphones. And if a recent leaked image is to be believed then it appears we could see a LG Windows Phone soon.

An image tweeted by Evleaks shows a LG smartphone that is running on Windows Phone 8.1 OS. According to the tweeter, the smartphone is called Uni8. Although there is not much information about the specs of the unannounced LG smartphone but the leaked pic does reveal some facts about the phone.

The bezel of Uni8 is quite thin. The phone appears to be quite slim from the image released and the Live Tiles give away the Windows Phone 8.1 software. The image also shows a front camera.

The Lumia 630 is the first handset to run WP 8.1 and was launched in India this week, but more devices at various price points are expected later this year. There are no physical buttons beneath the display and neither is there a button for the camera shutter. the Uni8 could very well launch with on-screen buttons, when it launches possibly later this year.

As of now all eyes are set on upcoming LG event on May 27 where G3 smartphone is expected to be launched. While there's no hint about any other phones coming at the event, the emergence of the LG Uni8 suggests we could see another handset annoucned.
