LG to launch Optimus L7 II Dual in Russia

LG is expanding its Optimus line-up. According to Russian website Hi-tech.Mail.ru, LG is set to launch the Optimus L7 II Dual in Russia. The phone features dual-SIM capabilities and will be available in two colours: black and white. It will be launched at a price of RUB 12,990, which translates to approximately Rs 23,000. An LG representative in India told Tech2 that the company currently has no plans to release the smartphone in India, but it may reach Indian shores after a couple of months.

The Optimus L7 II Dual is said to be the second generation of LG’s L-Series smartphones. The device supports simultaneous operation of two SIM cards and has a hotkey that lets users switch between the two SIMs.

The phone is equipped with a 2460mAh battery and the manufacturer has quoted a battery life of two days. It is equipped with an 8 megapixel camera that can record 720p videos. Back in December, LG announced that sales of its Optimus L-Series smartphones have exceeded 10 million units, marking a milestone for LG and its mobile devices business. In the announcement, LG claims that the success of the L-Series is proof that many consumers want attractive smartphones with a distinctive, not “me too” styling.

L-Series handsets such as the Optimus L3, Optimus L5, and the Optimus L7 were first introduced at the 2012 Mobile World Congress alongside LG’s new design philosophy and were followed by the Optimus L9, which has a 4.7-inch display.

The L-Series handsets also offer large displays and LG’s proprietary UX features such as QuickMemo and QTranslator. QuickMemo allows users to capture and share a note with others, while QTranslator instantly and accurately translates words as well as entire sentences into 64 foreign languages.

All the models in the L-Series, including the Optimus L3, Optimus L5, Optimus L7 and Optimus L9, are available in over 50 markets worldwide.

LG launched the Optimus L9 in India for Rs 22,000 last November. As per an official statement, the Optimus L9 has a 9.1mm thick body with a slim, metallic streak and a modern square style. Featuring a 4.7-inch IPS display, the Optimus L9 offers clear and true-to-life images with good detail. The 2,150mAh SiO+ battery allows users to enjoy the various new UX features for long periods of time. The handset is equipped with 1GB of RAM.

Here is a quick look at some of the major features of the LG Optimus L9:

  • 4.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 540
  • 1GHz dual-core processor
  • 5MP rear camera along with VGA front-facing camera
  • 4GB e-MMC with 1GB DDR2 RAM
  • DLNA, QMemo, QTranslator function, My Style Keyboard function

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
