LG has been putting a lot of effort in building up the hype for its latest G2 smartphone. The latest being a teaser video about the statistics of life. While the smartphone in question will not be launched before August 7, the official case for the same has already been revealed.
The South Korean company is calling the case “QuickWindow”, featuring a slot on its front that reveals a portion of the device’s screen. This is similar to the Samsung S View Cover that was earlier seen in the Galaxy S4.
According to the company, users simply have to slide their finger against the exposed display to see a special QuickView user interface open up. The QuickView UI displays incoming call details, text messages, a clock, weather report, alarm as well as a music player. It is obvious that the case will come along with the smartphone, and gives black, blue, mint, pink, purple, white and yellow variants as options. The release date of the LG G2 has still not been formally announced, though.
LG has announced the official cover for the G2 smartphone
While the official specifications of the G2 are still not out, quite a few leaks have revealed some details about the phone. The device is likely to feature a 1080p display and sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. In addition, the G2 may come with back-mounted volume controls as well as a 13 megapixel camera and 2GB RAM. Leaked images have given us a fair idea of how the smartphone should look like. It looks like the smartphone will make use of on-screen buttons instead of a three-button layout featuring the Home, Menu and Back buttons at the bottom of the screen. Users who want to know more about the G2 will have to wait a few more days, unless a new leak springs up in the interim.
