LG ramps up its smartphone portfolio in India with the Android based L7 and L3

At a major event held in Mumbai, LG announced its first quad-core handsets - the Optimus 4X HD and the L5, an Android based smartphone running on Ice Cream Sandwich straight out of the box. Along with these two handsets, the brand has also taken the wraps off two more L-series handsets, the L7 and L3, both of which are targeted at the mid and entry-level markets.

The L series of handsets have been designed keeping style in mind as it features five elements that LG states will help it stand apart from the competition. LG explains that these five elements comprise of a modern square style for a comfortable grip, floating mass technology for a slimmer look, a seamless layout, a harmonized design contrast and sensuous slim shape.Available for Rs. 19,900

Available for Rs. 19,900

After first unveiling these handsets at MWC, one would need to wonder when the handsets would make their way to the Indian market. The saying “better late than never” certainly holds true for these Android-based smartphones from. The L7 was unveiled sporting a price tag of Rs. 19,900 and it is positioned to take on the likes of the Sony Xperia Sola as well as the Xperia Go. Having Ice Cream Sandwich on board, this will allow users not to warrant an upgrade at least for a while. Though Android Jelly Bean is announced and is being dished out to a few handsets, it may be a while before LG serves this latest operating system to its devices as the rollout would take some time.
