LG Optimus G Pro to make its way into Asia on May 30

Local rival Samsung might have surpassed the Korean powerhouse LG in terms of sales, but LG won’t let the loss have a long lasting effect on it. It has decided to launch its flagship phone, the Optimus G Pro, in Asia on May 30 at an event in Macau. However, we contacted LG India and they have denied claims of such announcements in the country.

Interestingly, this range of smartphones is considered to be a close competitor to local rival Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2. The LG Optimus G Pro was launched in Korean market in February this year and was initially presumed to be a phone exclusive only to the country. However, the handset made its way to the US market in the second quarter and now will be making its way to Asian countries as well.

Optimus G Pro can be considered to be  a close successor of the earlier version, the Optimus G. Sporting a 5.5 inch screen, the phone has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and has a True Full HD IPS Plus LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors.

It is backed by a 1.7GHz quad-core Krait processor, 2GB RM and internal memory of 32GB. Other features include a micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and NFC.

The 13MP rear camera and the 2.1MP front camera are competent to shoot 1080p HD videos at a frame rate of 30 fps. The phone will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS and will rely on a 3140 mAh battery.
