In terms of features the smartphone is definitely a high-end smartphone but its price might be a little off-putting to users given that India is a very price-sensitive market. We take a look at some cheaper competitors for this LG phablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8: Samsung launched the range of Mega smartphones in May in India , and the Galaxy Mega 5.8 is a strong competitor for the LG Optimus G Pro. While it may not have a Snapdragon quad-core processor like the G Pro smartphone, the screen size and price put it in the running.

The Galaxy Mega 5.8 is priced at Rs 25,100 and has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.9 megapixel front camera. The device supports NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G networks. It has 8GB Internal Memory, with a micro SD slot that can be expanded to a maximum of 64GB. The RAM is 1.5 GB and in terms of processing speed it has a 1.7 Ghz dual-core processor. This is a DUAL-SIM smartphone.

In terms of OS features, the Mega has one called ‘Group Play’ which enables content sharing for up to 8 devices (Samsung devices that support/have the feature ) on the same Wi-Fi network, ‘S Translator’ which provides instant translation, using text or voice translation on applications including email and also supports Samsung’s AirView feature which allows users to preview content without actually clicking or touching the device.

For those with an under 30,000 budget, this phone would on top of their list, given that its by a reputable brand and also has a giant screen.

Lenovo K900: This phone is priced at Rs 32,999 and will be available in Indian stores this month. The device also falls in the phablet category with a 5.5-inch screen and is probably the best competitor for the LG Optimus G Pro in terms of specs. The screen resolution is Full HD and has 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB internal memory.

It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. Both can shoot 1080p videos. The device runs on the latest version of Android, the 4.2 Jelly Bean. Lenovo also claims that at 6.9mm, the K900 is the thinnest phone in its class by a wide margin.

Intex Aqua Style: This one is another phablet with a 5.8-inch screen and a serious budget buy since it is available for Rs 8,990. The device has an 8MP camera with flash and 1.3-megapixel front camera to enable video calling.

It has a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM, and 4GB internal storage which can be expanded by up to 32 GB via microSD card. The 2500mAH battery offers talk time of 3.5 hours and standby time of about 100 hours, according to the company. This is a dual-SIM phone.
