LG K10 and K7 announced in India; to be priced at Rs 13,500 and Rs 9,500

LG announced the launch of their K7 and K10 smartphones at an event in Delhi today. The phones are both aimed squarely at the sub-Rs 15,000 category and are set to retail at Rs 9,500 and Rs 13,500 respectively.

LG announced the launch of their K7 and K10 smartphones at an event in Delhi. The phones are both aimed squarely at the sub-Rs 15,000 category and are set to retail at Rs 9,500 and Rs 13,500 respectively. They’re the first phones that LG will manufacture entirely in India. The devices will be manufactured in a fully-automated plant based in Noida.

The K7 features a 5-inch screen (854x480) with in-cell touch technology . It’s powered by a Snapdragon chipset and supported by 1.5GB RAM. The phone only features 5MP front and rear cameras and comes with 8GB of internal storage. The battery is a 2125mAh one and the device runs Android 5.1. The device will offer 4G and VoLTE support and will be available in Titan, Gold and White colours.

The more expensive K10 features a 5.3-inch HD display (1280x720) with in-cell touch technology and is also powered by a Snapdragon chipset. However, the K10 is supported by 2GB of RAM and is available in a 16GB variant. Battery capacity has been bumped up to 2300mAh. The device will also offer 4G and VoLTE support and will be available in White, Indigo and Gold.

Both phones will feature 2.5D glass on the front and the back will boast of an “intricate woven pattern” for optimal grip, says LG. The back is also supposed to be scratch-proof.

The camera can be accessed by pressing down on the volume button when the phone is locked. The phone also features a gesture camera (wave to take a selfie, for example). LG also announced a special “slide cover” for the phone, which will let you glimpse relevant information such as calls along the side of the display.
