After launching the LG G4 Stylus, LG has launched the flagship handset's fifth variant, the LG G4 Beat. LG promises that the new handset "retains the best features and functions of the G4," including its rear-facing buttons and slightly curved design. At the moment, the price of the smartphone is unknown.
LG G4 Beat will first hit the shelves across Europe and Latin America in Metallic Silver, Ceramic White and Shiny Gold. Following that, the device will reach Canada, India, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey and other markets.
In terms of specifications, the LG G4 features a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS LCD screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 423ppi. It is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octacore processor paired with a 1.5GB RAM. It includes an internal storage storage of 8GB. No information has been provided whether the device includes an expandable microSD card.
The LG G4 Beat comes equipped with an 8MP autofocus rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. Some of the features included are Manual Mode, Gesture Interval Shot, Colour Spectrum Sensor and Laser Autofocus. The company stated that the G4 Beat Latin America version will feature the same front-facing camera but a better 13MP rear camera, which is also present in the flagship G4 handset.
In terms of connectivity, the device includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, A-GPS, Glonass and USB 2.0. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based LG G4 Beat is backed by a 2300mAh removable battery. The smartphone measures 142.7 x 72.6 x 9.85mm and weighs 139 grams.
"Too often, mid-tier phones sacrifice overall usability in order to include that one killer feature,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "Our goal with the LG G4 Beat was to create a phone that was not only well- balanced in terms of display, camera, performance and design but delivered terrific value and satisfaction."
