The latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the flagship LG G3 , which was first released in Korea and Europe by the company, is now being officially rolled out for India users.
According to a report on NDTV while the ‘over-the-air’ OTA update is yet not available for Indian users, users can yet download it via the LG Mobile Support Tool for Windows PCs. Digipassion was the first to report the news.
The report on Digipassion states that new features in the LG G3 smartphone include improved notifications, new task manager with tabs, new lock screen notifications, new animations, and a colour inversion feature too. The update stands at around 1.1GB and 13 apps will get updated in this build. Other features include the ART Runtime environment and support for 64-bit apps.
Users will need to back-up their data in order to avoid possible data loss during update. The website has separate links for the 16GB variant and the 32GB variant. Users can simply connect the USB to their smartphone and click on ‘Start Upgrade’.
LG claims that the new OS brings about a fresh Material Design UI, new security features along with many software improvements.
