While LG G3 is expected to enter the Indian markets next week , the company has already announced a mid-tier variant of the device and calls it the G3 Beat.

Promising a similar premium user experience, sophisticated Floating Arc metallic design and fast Laser Auto Focus technology seen in the G3, it comes in a more compact 5-inch form factor.

With the G3 Beat, LG has opted for a 5-inch HD IPS display featuring a screen-to-body ratio of 74.1 percent, which LG claims is the best in class. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB onboard storage, and support for microSD card.

One can expect the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. The Floating Arc Design promises curved sides and gradually tapered edges for a good grip and feel. It measures 137.7 x 69.6 x 10.3mm, and weighs 134 grams. Connectivity options include 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS/GLONASS and NFC.

It comes with 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera. Some of its key highlights are Touch and Shoot, Smart Keyboard, QuickMemo+ and Gesture Shot. The device comes dipped in Metallic black, Silk white and Shine gold options. All of this is fuelled by a 2,540mAh battery.

The LG G3 Beat is expected to hit South Korean markets on July 18 and the global rollout from Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries in the weeks that follow. It will be available as the LG G3 s in Europe and the CIS. Prices and details of availability will be announced locally at the time of launch.
