LG Electronics launches 19.5 inch PC monitor for Rs 6,900

LG Electronics today launched a 19.5-inch display PC Monitor – model no. 20EN33TS, and with it entered into a new category in the monitors segment, confirms an official statement. LG claims that the 20EN33TS will enhance the visual experience and provide great value for money to consumers.

The 19.5 inch (49.53 cm) 20EN33TS will replace the existing 18.5-inch (46.99cm) E1942C model and will come with better specification and consumer benefits.

The LG line-up will now have an array of screen sizes for consumers to choose from. The line-up would have an entry segment: 15.6-inch (39.62 cm) and 19.5-inch (49.53 cm), a mid segment: 20.1-inch (51.05 cm) and 22-inch (55.88 cm) and a higher segment: 23-inch (58.42 cm), 24-inch (60.96 cm), 27-inch (68.58 cm) and 29-inch (73.66cm).

LG has introduced the 19.5 inch PC monitor after extensive research. The new line-up includes 16EN33, 19EN33, 20EN33, 22EN33, 23EA53, 24EN33, 27EA33, 24EA53, 27EA53 and 29EA93.  Keeping the Indian consumer sentiments in mind, all the models’ on-screen displays would come with a language option of Hindi, which is another added advantage of the product.

According to Mr. Sanjoy Bhattacharya, IT Head, LG India, “As the demand for large-screen gadgets is the strongest in Asia, LG is delighted to introduce the 19.5 inch 20EN33 PC Monitor and with it enter into a new category of PC monitors. This is a path breaking move from LG to introduce a new standard in PC monitor size and technology to provide better customer satisfaction. LG hopes to capture 30% market share from the stand-alone monitor market and establish product leadership in the monitor category."

“This category contributes 50% sales to the over-all PC Monitor segment and now, with the introduction of the 19.5” 20EN33, LG aims to increase the category presence to 55%. Our strategy is to up sell from 18.5” screen size to the newly introduced 19.5” screen size,” added Mr. Bhattacharya.

In November last year, LG had announced the launch of its EA93 ultrawide monitor. As per an official statement by the company, it is the world’s first monitor to boast of a 21:9 aspect ratio. LG states that the 29-inch screen offers ample screen real estate, a four-screen split feature and 100 percent sRGB colour space expression that can help in multitasking and multimedia capabilities. The monitor uses an IPS display.

The monitor’s 29-inch screen provides space for multiple documents and windows to be viewed at one time. The display also allows more spreadsheet columns to be viewed at once or a two-page document to be read side-by-side.

The ultrawide monitor is also an option for graphics professionals. Transforming the monitor into the ultimate multitasking tool, the four-screen split feature can divide the screen into four segments or less, each of which can be customised.

LG claims that graphic designers generally utilise a dual-monitor configuration, allowing them to compare and contrast the material they are editing. However, dual-monitors can cause colour inconsistencies between screens. The EA93 can connect the monitor to two external devices via dual link-up, providing constant colour across the entire screen, eliminating the bezels that typically divide the view in dual-monitor setups. The monitor also offers 100 percent of the sRGB colour space and is hardware-colour-calibration ready.

The EA93’s 21:9 aspect ratio is very close to the dimensions of movie theatre screens, claims LG. The monitor also uses IPS display technology, so viewers can enjoy lifelike picture quality movies at almost any angle. The combination of the 21:9 aspect ratio, image quality, colour expression and LG’s Cinema Screen design makes the ultrawide monitor well-suited for watching movies and playing video games. Gamers can also play games and videos from their smartphones on the monitor via the included MHL connection. The addition of two 7W stereo speakers adds to the entertainment experience.
