The upcoming flagship by LG, expected to be called as G7 will come with the microLED display. A hands on video of the smartphone was also seen during the MWC 2018.

South Korean giant LG Electronics is planning to bring a new series of microLED displays to the market. The company has filed the paperwork to trademark these displays in European Union, which will be used in smartphones, laptops, tablets and other similar electronic devices. LG is naming the displays as XµLED , SµLED , and XLµLED . AP[/caption] This is not the first time a company is introducing a microLED panel to the consumer market as Apple has also been reported to develop microLED display  technology to be used in its future devices. Samsung too unveiled a microLED TV at Consumer Electronic Show (CES) at 2018. Apple said that it would be  bringing microLED  display technology to its next generation of smartwatches in an earlier report. MicroLED displays are the next step after the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays and are more efficient as compared to the OLED displays. It uses a different light emitting compound, which consumes less power as compared to the OLEDs. The downside to microLED displays is that they are difficult to produce. A report on GSMArena mentions that the upcoming flagship by LG, expected to be called the G7, is rumoured to come with a microLED display panel. A hands on video of the smartphone was also seen during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018.
