LG announces mid-range Q6 series with 18:9 screen aspect ratio, Snapdragon 435

LG has announced three new Q series mid-range smartphones namely LG Q6, LG Q6+, and LG Q6a, according to a report in the Indian Express. The company has offered features of premium range LG G series phones at a very compelling price. The phone has a unique 18:9 aspect ratio on a 5.5 inch curved screen giving the user a big screen experience while still allowing for single hand operation, much like the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. LG has kept the usage of bezels at a minimum, a technique which is being used in an increasing number of smartphones. The display of the phone is full HD, with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 and a pixel density of 442 ppi. Noticeably all the three variants of the Q6 are similar in design and will be made available in Astro Black and Ice Platinum colours. All the three models will be featuring Aluminum metallic frames and none of the models will have a fingerprint sensor. In terms of performance and hardware the Q6 will be having a Snapdragon 435 alongside 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage for the Q6 plus, while the Q6 and Q6a will be having 3 GB RAM/ 32 GB ROM and 2 GB RAM/ 16 GB ROM respectively. In the camera department all the three phones are set to feature the same 13 MP rear camera long with a 5 MP 1000-degree wide-angle front camera which comes with LG’s Face Recognition feature. LG Q6 and it’s variants will go on sale in key markets in Asia starting next month. This will be followed by availability in Europe, Latin America, and North America.
