Lenovo Vibe S1 gets a price cut in India; to sell for Rs 12,999 on Amazon

Lenovo has cut down the price of its mid-range smartphone - the Vibe S1 - which was introduced last year. The Lenovo Vibe S1 which started selling for Rs 15,999 and later got a Rs 1,000 price drop, has now got a new price drop of Rs 2,000 and will sell for Rs 12,999 on Amazon. This is a very good price for the Lenovo Vibe S1, considering it was already giving the OnePlus X stiff competition at Rs 15,999. Here were our thoughts on the Vibe S1 when we reviewed it last year. Read the full review of the Vibe S1 . The design on this phone makes it really stand out from competition. Only OnePlus X offers a comparable design. But the Lenovo Vibe S1 leaves the OnePlus X behind in a lot of departments including camera and battery life performance. The MediaTek MT6752 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM gives the Vibe S1 enough horsepower to ensure that the performance is stutter-free. Even playing heavy games wasn’t an issue with the Vibe S1 and heat management is good. The camera performance and image quality on the Vibe S1 is second only to the Xiaomi Mi 4 in this price bracket. We just wished the battery life was good on heavy usage. But as compared to the OnePlus X, it is certainly better. In terms of specifications, the device sports a 5-inch full HD IPS LCD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution along with 440ppi. It sports a curved Gorilla Glass 3 towards the back and a metal edge runs around the phone. It’s powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 processor paired with 3GB RAM. It includes an internal storage of 32GB and can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. In addition, the phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with phase-detection auto-focus, an 8MP main front-facing shooter along with a 2MP secondary front camera. The company claims that the Lenovo Vibe S1 is the first smartphone with two front facing cameras. In terms of connectivity, the device includes dual-SIM cards, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. A 2500 mAh battery completes the package.
