Lenovo Vibe K5 Note set to launch in India today

The Rs 10000 to Rs 15000 smartphone segment has become one of the most important range in India as it offers a number of value for money devices today. Currently the most successful and probably the best handsets to buy in this range are the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and the LeEco Le 2. Today another handset will be a part of this range as Lenovo has confirmed that it will finally launch the Vibe K5 Note for the Indian market. It was suppose to launch the smartphone back in July , but for some reason it got postponed. The company has done a nice job with the invites though, as it sent the media a jumbo box of cheese and caramel flavoured popcorn, hinting that the handset will be focusing on bringing cinematic experience through a smartphone as it did with the Vibe K4 Note bundled with its ANT VR headset. The Vibe K5 Note was first unveiled in China back January so we do have a certain idea as to how the handset is going to be on paper. Expect the smartphone to feature a 5.5-inch full HD LTPS display with a 1920x1080 resolution. It will be powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor along with a Mali-T860 GPU. The RAM options at the Chinese launch included 2GB and 3GB but there is a possibility that the Indian version will have either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The internal storage will be 16GB expandable via a microSD card of up to 128GB. At the back there will be a 13MP camera with PDAF (phase detection auto focus) and a dual LED flash as well as an 8MP camera on the front. Other features include dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE and VoLTE support, a fingerprint scanner, Dolby Atmos surround sound technology, a 3,500 mAH battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop with Vibe UI on top. The latest Vibe UI is expected to offer consumers an option to have dual apps like two Whatsapp or Facebook with separate accounts. The handset was unveiled in two colours, Gold and Silver with a price tag of 1,099 Yuan which is roughly about Rs 11,200, so expect the price to be somewhere about the 12k mark. The smartphone will be a Flipkart exclusive and the e-commerce website has also tied up with Ola Cabs for a special preview of the Vibe K5 Note where customers who are interested in buying the smartphone can experience the phone straight from the Ola app before the smartphone starts selling on Flipkart.
