Lenovo’s foray into the smartphone arena has so far seemed to work in the company’s favor. The company’s latest addition to the market, the Lenovo K900, came with a launch price of Rs 32,990 which has now seen a huge drop on Flipkart. The online retailer is currently listing the smartphone at Rs 25,499.
The reasons behind the price drop are unknown but it should be noted that the K900 is still priced at Rs 32,990 on the official website. It’s possible that the new pricing is part of a promotion by the online retailer or presumably Lenovo’s attempt at outpricing some of its competition which also have similarly-specced phones. This price drop certainly makes the K900 more attractive, especially seeing its specs. Here’s our review of the K900.
One of the USPs of the smartphone is the stainless steel and polycarbonate unibody construction, which makes it a very sturdy handset. The phone is 6.9 mm thin and weighs in at 162 g. The K900 is the first of its kind to come with an Atom Z2580 dual-core SoC, a more powerful and efficient version of the Medfield. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with a resolution ratio of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of about 400 ppi. The display has Gorilla Glass 2 protection against scratches.
The stylish smartphone has got a price cut
In terms of connectivity, the K900 comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support as well as support for Wi-Fi hotspot. The Intel processor ensures that the user can make use of the Wireless Display (WiDi) to share content on a second screen on the same Wi-Fi network, a pretty nifty feature for sure. The smartphone also comes with Intel’s GMA graphics processor clocked at 533 MHz and 2GB of RAM.
Photography is handled by a 13-megapixel primary shooter with Sony’s Exmor BSI sensor. A 2-megapixel front camera has also been thrown in that comes with an 88-dgree wide-angle lens for wider video calls. Surprisingly, the smartphone does not come with GLONASS support.
