Lenovo has added the Lenovo A8-50 to its vast range of tablets. The A8-50 features an 8-inch display and is available in colourful cases of white, red and yellow. The tablet is priced at Rs 17,999, which puts it in competition with the 16GB iPad Mini and the Nexus 7 .   The 8-inch display has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. While it’s decent enough for everyday use, the Nexus 7 packs a sharper, 1920 x 1200 pixel screen. The A8-50 packs a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM, so it should be suitable for multitasking and running demanding apps. However, it’s a MediaTek processor, so it might not be as fast the iPad Mini or the Nexus 7. Like most Lenovo tablets , it packs two Dolby front speakers for better sound quality on videos. It comes with 16GB of built-in memory, which you can expand up to 32GB with the micro-SD card slot.   There’s a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera for video calls and self-portraits. It packs a 4200mAh battery, which claims up to 8 hours of battery life. There’s a SIM card slot, which lets you browse the Internet and make voice calls so you can use it as a secondary smartphone. You can browse the Internet through 3G and Wi-Fi connections. The Lenovo A8-50 runs on Android 4.2, but Lenovo has claimed that an over-the-air (OTA) update to Android 4.4 KitKat is available for the tablet.
