Legion hacker group: The Indian banking system can easily be hacked

After their interview with the Washington Post, the hacker group that calls themselves Legion have now given out some more information, this time to Factor Daily. Similar to the last chat interview which revolved around objectives and future targets, this one gives us a broader picture about their objectives and who they stand with. Similar to the last interview Factor Daily too had to contact the hacker group via an instant messenger that provides a secure chat platform. The highlights of the this new conversation tell us that they aren’t on Twitter themselves. That the Indian banking system is a vulnerable one and that it can easily be hacked (but they won’t) and that their next hack would be of sansad.nic.in followed by a dump of all the information. They also mentioned that they would support #DigitalIndia provided it’s on cryptocurrency. According to the group, the sansad.nic.in hack is expected to expose a lot of “big fish” even though it would damage a few innocents with them in the process. A few questions later, the group also admitted that they do not have an Indian passport and that they are not of Indian origin. They also went on to brag about how much money they have and how they could own any corporation if they wanted to. The hacking group Legion has reportedly been pulling off hacks for a decade now and have also been wanted by multiple international agencies. They also went into the nitty gritties stating that they did not expose details about Apollo because the data dump could cause “chaos” in India. When it came to why specific accounts of NDTV presenters were hacked, the group simply said that they were easy and barely took 30 seconds. The representative however had plenty to rant about NDTV reporter Barkha Dutt. Coming to the bits about the Indian banking system being vulnerable, the individual chatting for the group mentioned that hacks have taken place in the past, it’s just that banks never disclose the breaches to customers.
