Ever since the first leaked images of the LeEco Le 2 smartphone surfaced online, there seems to be plenty of confusion as to whether the device will be called the Le 2 or the Le 2 Pro. This is because soon after the first leaked images showed up online, we got to know about the specifications of another LeEco smartphone called the Le 2 Pro. After all of that we now have another benchmark listing from GizmoChina that confirm the hardware details from the first leak adding to the confusion. Indeed, the smartphone in question is the LeEco Le 2, which is the successor to the Le 1s that is currently being sold in India. The GFXbench info page shows a smartphone running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device features a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Inside we find a deca-core MediaTek MT6769T chipset clocked at 2.0GHz and handling the graphics will be an ARM Mali-T880. There’s 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage with no support for microSD cards. The primary camera on the Le 2 will be a 16MP unit and it also features 4K video recording. The front-facing camera is an 8MP unit. Another important feature that should keep the Le 2 ahead of the competition when announced will be an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. The handset is expected to be constructed from ceramic or glass instead of the usual metal that holds the currently available smartphones together. The Le 2 is expected to be a budget smartphone, much like its predecessor, the LeEco Le 1s which seems to have been a hit in India. Talking about the announcement, the device, according to the same source, is expected to be announced on 20 April in China.
After a number of leaks we now have the hardware specifications of the LeEco Le 2 and finally, a launch date as well.
