LeEco Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 announced in China sans 3.5mm headphone jack

At an event in China, internet and content giant LeEco announced its much-rumoured smartphone range that consists of 3 smartphones. The company today launched its budget Le 2, a mid-range Le 2 Pro and the premium Le Max 2 in China and are priced at 1099 RMB (approximately Rs 11,237), 1499 RMB (approximately Rs 15,327) and 2099 RMB (approximately Rs 21,462) respectively. But there’s new for Indian fans as well. [caption id=“attachment_310488” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] ![LeEco Le 2 Gold (1)](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/LeEco-Le-2-Gold-1.jpg) Image: LeEco Le 2[/caption] The Le 2 is the successor to the popular Le 1s smartphone that made waves during the launch and its many successful flash sales for its value for money proposition. The budget Le 2 sports an all metal construction and features a 5.5-inch Full HD display (403ppi). Inside we get a MediaTek-powered Helio X20 chipset clocked at 2.3GHz that is paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The handset comes with a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front facing one for selfies. [caption id=“attachment_310478” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] ![LeEco Le 2 Pro (5)](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/LeEco-Le-2-Pro-5.jpg) Image: LeEco Le 2 Pro[/caption] Next up is the elder sibling of the Le 2 called the Le 2 Pro. The Le 2 Pro again looks similar to the Le 2 thanks same 5.5-inch Full HD, but packs in a punch with a top-of-the-line MediaTek Helio X25 chipset. The chipset is clocked at 2.5GHz and is paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the back is a 21MP camera while the front gets an 8MP unit. The devices packs in a 3000mAh battery. The phablet packs in a 5.7-inch QHD display a flagship-friendly Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset clocked at 2.5GHz and a massive 6GB of RAM in the higher priced version that also sports 64GB of internal storage. We get a 21MP camera on the back and the usual 8MP unit up front. The device is strangely powered by a 3100mAh battery (probably to keep its weight in check). There lower priced version of the LeEco Le Max 2 features 4GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage and is priced at 2099 RMB (approximately Rs 21,462) while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at 2499 RMB (approximately Rs 25,552). ![LeEco USB Type C headphones](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/LeEco-USB-Type-C-headphones.jpg) Common among all three smartphones announced today, is Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s EUI 5.8 software. Also common is the fingerprint reader that is placed on the back similar to its predecessors. Another common feature to be noted is the absence of a 3.5mm jack on all of the smartphones. LeEco is expected to package the its USB Type C powered headphones along with its Superphones. For now all of the above mentioned smartphones have been launched for the Chinese markets. But LeEco India Head, Atul Jain commented, “We will be getting the phones and TVs to India very soon. We are looking at June  July launch.” So yes, the Superphones should arrive in a couple of months .
