After announcing its next generation of smartphones in China, LeEco had sent out invites for its India launch . Today the company officially showcased the new smartphones; the Le 2 and the Le Max 2, at Rs 11,999 and Rs 22,999 (with one year of LeEco content) respectively. The 4GB RAM version of the Le Max 2 is priced at Rs 22,999 while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 29,999. LeEco also announced Premium membership experience where users get access to exclusive discount, 5TB LeEco drive cloud storage, premium identity, after-sales support and access to exclusive special events. The Le Max 2 goes on sale on 28 June on Flipkart and Lemall.com and registrations for the same begin from 20 June. Both smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with the company’s Emotion UI skin on top. Other common hardware features include a fingerprint scanner at the back and a USB Type-C port at the bottom. The company has ditched the 3.5mm audio jack making them the first smartphone maker to remove the legacy audio port from a smartphone. LeEco also announced the CDLA Continual Digital Lossless Audio standard which utilises the USB Type-C port as an audio interface to offer lossless audio experience. LeEco unveiled the world’s first CDLA Type C audio headphones that deliver lossless audio for Rs 1,990.
The Le 2 is the successor of the Le 1s featuring a 5.5-inch Full HD in-cell display, a 1.8GHz deca-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. At the back there is a 16MP camera (with PDAF) and an 8MP unit on the front. Other features include a 3000mAh battery with quick charge and 4G LTE/VOLTE support. It will be available in Rose Gold colour option along with other options.
The flagship model, Le Max 2 features a 5.7-inch QHD bezel-less display, a 2.15Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core processor with an Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB RAM. There is 64GB of internal storage and the cameras include a 21MP unit at the back and an 8MP snapper on the front. It features the world’s first Sense ID fingerprint scanner (made by Qualcomm) with ultrasonic technology that lets it read fingerprints with grease and dust accurately. There is a 3100mAh battery with fast charging support and support for 4G LTE/VOLTE connectivity.
