LeEco and Coolpad to launch a dual rear camera smartphone called the Cool 1

LeEco recently became the largest shareholder of Coolpad when it acquired a 11 percent stake of the telecommunications equipment company. With this in mind, we soon heard news that both companies plan to work on a smartphone together. Today the companies have confirmed the name of the first smartphone born out of this partnership and it is called the Cool 1. The same was reported by The Mobile Indian and the news actually comes from Coolpad’s official Weibo account. The teaser is the first confirmed information about the smartphone’s existence, which is also expected to pack in something unique in the form of a dual camera setup. The same was revealed in a previous leak that showed the back of the smartphone. It showed a metal body along with a dual camera setup. According to rumours, the smartphone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Powering it all will be a 3500mAh battery. The device is also expected to feature a slimmer design. Other details include the existence of a fingerprint reader on the back. Strangely rumours also tell us that the device will boot to both LeEco’s EUI and Coolpad’s CoolUI and will be based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The rumoured launch date is expected to be 10 August, but nothing apart from the name of the smartphone has been confirmed for now.
