Leaks: Apple's 12-inch MacBook Air for 2015 is codenamed 'MacBook Stealth'

Though Apple isn’t a part of CES, they are still giving fans a reason to remember them during this event. The company is reportedly preparing for an all new MacBook Air set to release this year. A few images have already been leaked! Apparently, Apple employees are calling the device, “MacBook Stealth” internally. The news was first reported by 9to5mac who said, the MacBook Air 2015 will have a radically new design that jettisons standards such as full-sized USB ports, MagSafe connectors, and SD card slots in favor of a markedly thinner and lighter body with a higher-resolution display. It will also be an approximate quarter-of-an-inch narrower than the 11-inch version but is yet, a quarter-of-an-inch taller so that it could fit in a larger display. The company has gone ahead and designed thin bezels on all sides around the display, to blend in the larger screen. The company has squeezed in keys by giving them a narrower design. The report added that the new keyboard sits edge-to-edge across the width of the laptop. The entire key set has been subtly redesigned so that each key sits noticeably closer together. The trackpad for Apple’s 12-inch MacBook Air will be slightly taller, almost touching the bottom of the keyboard and the frame. It is also said that the device has a ‘slightly different’ clicking effect as compared to any of the previous models. They have eliminated the physical feedback in the click in an attempt to reduce thickness of the laptop as well. It would include a standard headphone jack, dual-microphones and the new USB Type-C port which is smaller and faster the standard USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports on existing computers. The device could be launched in a new Grey color. If the leaks are believed to be true, Apple impresses us with a fresh design and good specifications. There is no information on it’s price or availability yet.
