It seems that Samsung is indeed working on a metallic body for the Galaxy S4 which will possibly be a rugged version of the its flagship device. Reportedly, they intend to call the device with the new design Galaxy S4 Activ.
Previously Techview.me had reported that Young Soo Kim, President of Samsung Gulf, had said during a press conference that the company was working on a waterproof and dust-proof version of the Galaxy S4.
Now according to a report on GSMArena , pictures of the device have been leaked. The report states that the Galaxy S4 Activ is a quad-core smartphone, with a screen size and resolution similar to the original Galaxy S4. It also has an 8 megapixel rear camera, down from the 13 megapixel sensor of S4. More importantly it has a metallic shell instead of plastic.
According to Samsung rumour website, SamMobile, the company could launch the Samsung Galaxy S4 Activ by end of May. Also CNET reports that in a very bizarre move the device has been showcased in Croatia, before any other country.
