Xiaomi, it seems, is on a roll. After managing to successfully raise $1.1 billion, Xiaomi now has a valuation of $45 billion . But Xiaomi is not content with selling just mobile phones if a recent leak is any indicator to go by. GizmoChina has leaked images of what appears to be a Xiaomi Mi laptop along with the specifications. Calling it the Xiaomi Notebook, on first glance one can’t help but notice the uncanny resemblance to the Apple MacBook Air. This alleged laptop from Xiaomi sports impressive specs as well. It will have a 15-inch full HD display and will be powered by an Intel Core i7-4500U chip. It will come with two 8GB RAM modules, taking the total RAM to 16GB. The price point of this laptop is expected to be under $499 which is approximately Rs 32,000. There appears to be an orange button on one corner of the keypad, which the site claims will be used for some custom functions. On the OS front, you will be getting a Linux OS with some Xiaomi customisation. There are no details if there will be a Windows-based Xiaomi Notebook or a Xiaomi Chromebook for that matter. Nothing is official at the moment. With the CES 2015 just around the corner, we wonder if Xiaomi will unveil this notebook in Las Vegas. Considering it has already diversified into other product categories such as routers, TV to even an air-purifier, it does not seem unthinkable that Xiaomi is working on a laptop. All we can do now is wait and watch how this plays out next year.
