Oppo’s new camera-centric smartphone, the N1, is back in the news with a new leak. This time around, the leaks are a couple of photographs. The Oppo N1 is expected to be launched soon, perhaps by the end of September, according to the company’s offical Weibo account.

While the features expected in the N1 mostly keep in line with many of the other top-of-the line smartphones today, what sets this phone apart is the focus on the camera-related functionality. The rumoured specifications of the smartphone include a 16-megapixel camera, Xenon flash as well as Oppo’s “Owl” technology for better low-light photography. Other features of the smartphone are said to be a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of RAM and a 5-inch 1080p display.

The new images show the front surface and screen of the Oppo N1 prominently. There are still no visuals about how the back panel of the phone is expected to look like, though. And that pretty much rounds up everything we know about the Oppo N1 so far. There is hope that the Oppo N1 will come with a relatively cheaper price tag.

The question to ask is how this phone will stack up against the other camera-centric smartphones in the market.  And the competition is considerable, taking into account players like Nokia, with its Lumia 1020 , Sony, with its upcoming Xperia Z1 , aka Honami, and Samsung, with its Galaxy S4 Zoom .
