Images of an upcoming smartphone by HTC, dubbed HTC One X9, have emerged online . This set of images reveal that the smartphone has BoomSound speakers, a metal build along with a SIM card slot.
In terms of rumoured specifications, the device is said to feature a 5.5-inch screen along with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. It is said to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek 6795 chipset in two variants out of which one will have 2 GB RAM with 16 GB of internal storage and the other will offer 3 GB RAM with 16 GB of internal storage.
In addition, the device is most likely to sport a 13MP rear-facing camera with OIS along with a 4-ultrapixel camera. The smartphone will be powered by a 3000mAh battery. The device will mostly ship with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
Mobile phone maker HTC is ramping up its presence in the affordable category (Rs 8,000-15,000) in the country with the introduction of new devices, including 4G-enabled smartphones, to gain share in the heavily contested smartphone market in India. The company, which faces stiff competition from Indian and Chinese handset makers like Micromax, Lava and Xiaomi, is confident of garnering 7.5-8 percent share of the affordable smartphone category in next six months.
