Lava Pixel V1 smartphone owners have begun receiving their Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in India. The smartphone being a part of Google’s Android One program gets its fair share of the company’s latest and greatest mobile operating system that delivers better performance and battery life among other things.
In the past, Google’s Android One smartphone range was often criticised to be the last ones to get their respective software updates. This time around, it is just the opposite with the new-age Lava Pixel V1 being the first of many in its range to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
The new update brings plenty of new features to the Android One smartphone. This would include the Doze feature that will help deliver better battery life by putting the smartphone in a deep sleep-like state when it is not in use helping it save big when it comes to battery life. Next up is app permissions, where Android users get prompted for per-app permissions, and can also choose to ignore some permissions to continue working with the remainder of the app.
Google Now On Tap is another useful assistant that will prompt you with relevant data and app suggestions depending on the conversations happening on your screen (within any app).
Lastly, there’s also Flex storage, a very useful feature for those with limited internal storage. Simply put, it allows users with limited internal storage to format their SD cards and utilise them in a secure and encrypted manner as an alternative to internal storage, which lets you free up storage space.
Checking whether your Lava Pixel V1 smartphone has received the update notification is pretty simple. Just head to the Settings, then About Software and then tap on Software Update.
