Lava launches entry-level 3G 402+ smartphone for Rs 6,499

Lava has launched an upgraded version of its 3G 402. The 3G 402+ is a dual-SIM budget smartphone priced at Rs. 6,499. It comes dipped it in grey, brown, and white colours, with styling reminiscent of older Lava phones.

The Lava 3G 402+ sports a 4-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (unspecified chipset), it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. The entry-level smartphone includes 512MB of RAM. The 4GB onboard storage can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. All in all it sounds like a decent smartphone for a first time buyer.

On the connectivity front, the phone supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS, and 3G. It also comes with a 3-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. So not much to write home about when it comes to the cameras on this phone. The 3G series is a second-tier range in Lava’s portfolio and consists of basic smartphones that bring 3G connectivity at a low price.
