Lava has launched their new Iris Fuel 50 smartphone today at a price of Rs 7,799. The budget smartphone which will compete with the likes of Xiaomi's Redmi 1S device.
The smartphone offers you a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM. It has a 3000 mAh battery that claims to give 17 hours of 2G and 13 hours of 3G talk time. The Iris Fuel 50 features a 5-inch FWVGA IPS display with scratch resistant Asahi Dragon-trail glass protection. It also comes with 8GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB.
The smartphone also has a 8MP AF primary rear camera with BSI-II sensor along with 2MP front facing camera. It runs on the latest Android KitKat 4.4 and one can expect OTA firmware upgrades. The phone is equipped with a variety of gesture-driven features that makes it user friendly. It is a dual-SIM phone that supports 3G in one of the SIM slots.
The Lava Iris Fuel 50 will be available in black color in retail outlets across India. Lava also recently launched the Lava Iris X5 at Rs 8,799 targeting it as a 'selfie phone'. Where the competition is concerned, the Iris Fuel has its task cut out. As we had noted in our review of the Redmi 1S, that this is one winner from Xiaomi given it's good battery-life and firepower performance.
If the Lava Iris Fuel 50 can outdo the Xiaomi phone on battery, it will definitely be a bigger hit.
