We recently saw the premium Lava handset dubbed the Iris Pro 30 , and now the company has added a new budget device to its portfolio. The all new Lava Iris 408e appears to be an entry-level device and is listed online for Rs 3,829 . It is available in black and silver. The Lava Iris 408e is dual-SIM smartphone that runs on the significantly older Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. The budget device ensures large screen viewing with its 4-inch TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. Under the hood, it comes powered by a 408e single-core processor clocked at 1GHz, coupled with 256MB of RAM. This means its ability to run apps will be restricted. Lava has fitted the device with a 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and also a front-facing VGA camera for selfies. The onboard storage is also quite low at 512MB, but the company has included a microSD slot that supports cards up to 32GB. Lava doesn’t add 3G or even Wi-Fi capability to the budget phone. On the connectivity front, one will find support for only Bluetooth and GPRS. The device comes packed with a 1500mAh Li-Po battery that promises up to 5 hours of talk time and around 8 days of standby time. Though the 408e is not yet listed on the official site, most budget devices make their presence felt on online retailer sites, making it pretty much an official launch.
